We are proud to announce that the Levar Law Injury & Accident Lawyers is partnering with the University of Central Arkansas and Recycled Bikes for Kids to collect bicycle helmets!
Thanks to the support of UCA Athletics, there will be free admission to the November 10th UCA game against the University of the Incarnate Word with the donation of a child’s bicycle helmet. If you donate a bike, you will receive two tickets. Donations will be given to Recycled Bikes for Kids and distributed throughout Arkansas to ensure kids who want to ride their bikes are doing it safely and properly.
Feel free to drop off your helmet/bike at the following locations: the ticket office on game day or our Conway office located at 505 E. Dave Ward Drive, Suite #2 before game day.

Why We’re Participating
Yes, bike riding is good for the environment and a great form of exercise, but it’s also fun! We see kids every day riding their bikes with friends and family members to burn off some of that energy. But as attorneys, we also see the other side of bike riding: accidents. We know how devastating some of the bike crashes and injuries can be, and although helmets can’t prevent everything, it’s important we make sure children are protected and prepared for the unknown. So, we’ve decided to partner with two organizations that want to be part of the solution: Recycled Bikes for Kids and UCA.
10 Years and Counting: Recycled Bikes for Kids
Since 2008, Recycled Bikes for Kids has distributed over 14,000 bikes back into its community. With the generosity of individual and scrapyard donations as well as bike drives, the organization is able to provide bikes to kids throughout the community. Their one-of-a-kind and helpful volunteers fix up and shine the bikes so they can go to their new owners. The bikes are then given directly to kids throughout Little Rock through community events and organizations.
Through their “Earn a Bike” program, people ages 16 and older can earn a bike by volunteering a certain number of hours. Whether they decide to use their bike for recreation or having a reliable mode of transportation to work, it’s a win-win situation!
UCA and Their Master Plan for Bike Safety
The University of Central Arkansas is no stranger to bike-friendliness either. Recently, the university was appointed “Bicycle Friendly University” by the League of American Bicyclists. According to their news article, UCA shows “a wonderful commitment to safety, health, and sustainability through their efforts to support bicycling on campus.”
As part of their Bicycle Master Plan, UCA envisions a campus where cycling is safe, encouraged, and enjoyed. So far, they’re:
- Building a new and improved bicycle/pedestrian bridge
- Continuing to offer basic bike riding and safety classes
- Enforcing state-certified police officers as the point of contact for bike issues
- Offering the option to check out university bikes through their Campus Outdoor Pursuits and Activities office
UCA continues to enhance the bike experience for all its staff, faculty, and students with goals for 2018 and beyond.
